Leadership Alleyz

Refresh how you lead, one hold at a time.

A wall climbing leadership program for small groups. Leaders face a real challenge in front of their peers, then look honestly at how they led themselves and each other.

Leadership Alleyz uses wall climbing as the classroom. Leaders spend the session doing something unfamiliar in front of their peers, then look honestly at how they behaved when it got hard.

On a wall you cannot hide behind a job title. You find out how you react to fear, how you ask for help, and how you give directions to someone who cannot see what you see. Those are the same skills a team needs from its leader on an ordinary Tuesday.

It is built for small groups. The minimum is five people, which keeps the facilitation personal and the reflection honest.

How a session typically runs

  1. Frame the day

We agree on the leadership questions your group wants to answer before anyone touches the wall.

  2. Climb

Each person climbs at their own level, with guidance and a walkthrough before every attempt.

  3. Support from the ground

Teammates back each other up from below, so everyone practises giving clear directions and listening to them.

  4. Reflect

A guided conversation: what did fear do to your decisions, and what helped you keep going?

  5. Carry it back

Each leader leaves with one change to try in their team the following week.

Venue and duration are set when you enquire, based on your group size and goals.

Questions about Leadership Alleyz

Do we need climbing experience for Leadership Alleyz?

No. Every attempt starts with guidance, communication and a walkthrough, and each person climbs at their own level. Most participants are first-timers.

What if someone is afraid of heights?

That is common and it is useful. Fear of heights is the same muscle as fear of speaking up. Participants decide how far they go, and the group supports them from the ground.

How safe is the climbing?

Safety and learning outcomes are designed together. All climbing gear is provided and the session is facilitated by a trainer with a Level 2 Sport Climbing Certification.
